My wife, Chrissie, and I live in Delaware, OH, just a few blocks from Ohio Wesleyan's campus. I am grateful to be a member of such a wonderful community of scholars and students. My life has been a tour of the Midwest: I grew up in Iowa, went to college in Indiana, attended graduate school at the University of Michigan, and am now here in Ohio! In my spare time I enjoy running, hiking, traveling, reading, and learning Chinese (I took a gap year after college to teach in China). I also get myself in trouble by proudly cheering on the Michigan football team in the heart of Buckeye country. Some of my favorite books include The Brothers Karamazov, Love in the Time of Cholera, The Varieties of Religious Experience, The Making of the Atomic Bomb, and Consciousness: Confessions of a Romantic Reductionist. Check out my Goodreads profile for my reviews of these and other books.
